Day 8 of 30: Girls Night Out

This morning I woke up extra early. 8:30am. On a day off. A definate sign that I am getting older. I saw my husband off to work and then had a little pre-breakfast time with Jillian. The workouts are getting easier. Only 2 more days and then I will be onto workout #2 for Monday.

After my workout I headed to the Jenny Craig Centre for my weekly weigh in and food purchase with my JC consultant, Jenn. I weighed in and lost over 4lbs! That's the best reward and motivator anyone could ask for. I purchased my food for the week, and then headed for the gym to meet my new personal trainer, Tanya. On the way I dropped my truck off at the car detailer near Gold's Gym. They wash your vehicle inside and out while you workout!

At Golds Gym, I was measured and weighed (starting to feel like a big piece of meat) and then Tanya plugged a lot of info into the computer system about me. She hooked me up to this electrode hand held machine which posted infomation on screen about my extra fat. Apparently I have 11% extra. Not sure how I feel about that. 11 is a good enough number, better than 20 and not as good as 5. Looking forward to seeing that number go down at our final weigh in after our 16 weeks are completed. Next Friday is my first workout with Tanya.

After our meeting, I went off on my own to burn some fat. Hey, I was already dressed up and ready to go. I selected a treadmill (far away from the main hallway) and began to run. I decided to run at a 2% incline, which I've never bothered to do before. I ran 1 minute intervals from a walk at 6kmh to a jog at 9kmh for 25 minutes. Fastest I've ever attempted on the treadmill is 12kmh. Let me tell you its a bit scary. I then worked on some chest flys, some abs and some stretching. The after soak in the steam room was heavenly! The shower felt even better. So now I'm done working out for day 8 and I feel amazing.

Tonight I'm headed to the movies to see Valentine's Day with Amanda, one of my best friends. The trick will be trying to avoid the tasty-oh-so-good-smelling snack bar!

Have a great Friday night all!
