Learning to Run

Today I am back in the swing of things after a lazy Sunday of lounging around the house and playing World of Warcraft. Yes. I am a geek. Don't judge me.

I spent my lunch hour running along the river pathways downtown. I use the couch to 5km running app which tells me when to walk and run intervals while it plays music from my iPhone. Love it.

I'm learning to run. I know that sounds weird. It's odd to think about learning to do something that I've been doing since I was a child. Something so primal that our ancestors did with ease.

Running isn't as simple as one would think. It takes practice and studying. You need proper clothing and shoes, the easy part. You need proper form and stride and hand positioning, the difficult part. It's those moments when you're running down a path enjoying the scenery, breathing in the fresh air, with the sun on your face and you're actually doing it all on your own, that are seriously impowering.

I think I may make a small side hobby of running when I can. In between the rest of my fitness schedule.

Now onto a night of Indian cuisine, maybe some recorded tv shows or more Warcraft.
